Does your rabbit have allergies?
Have you spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars, perhaps even
thousands of dollars for your beloved rabbits on allergy problems
and your rabbit is still terribly uncomfortable? Is he/she
still scratching incessantly? Does your little friend still
have runny eyes, itchy skin? Does it still sneeze?
Does it have bare spots too?
Have you subjected your rabbit to
costly and painful blood tests time after time to no avail?
Are you sick of giving him/her
the extremely expensive and toxic drugs that every veterinarian
you have taken your rabbit to prescribes and they still do no good
for your rabbit? Have you made the rounds of every vet in
Are you sick of your furry
companion still being sick?
Well, relax. You have just
found the right place to bring your rabbit back to health.
We don't recommend drugs, we don't do blood tests, we don't do
urine tests. We merely recommend common sense and
Mother Nature's herbal bounty to restore your rabbit's health,
vitality and happiness based on over 180 cumulative years of
experience in dealing with rabbit health issues. Do you
think rabbits have allergies in the wild?
Allergies appear to be more and
more of a diagnosis with the rabbit population today.
Thousands of rabbits with everything from runny eyes, a runny
nose, sneezing, hot spots, scratching, itching, to the rabbit
scraping its bottom on the floor/ground are all being labeled as
What causes allergies?
Twenty or forty years ago, did your rabbit have allergies?
Why are allergies becoming such a problem all of a sudden?
Let us jog your memory and get you to thinking too:
Twenty to forty years ago, did
you or your parents feed your rabbit rabbit food from a bag?
Did they give their rabbits vaccinations for everything under the sun
then? Did they worm him/her with toxic chemicals?
Did they spray their lawns with chemicals or apply synthetic fertilizers every spring
and fall? Did they have carpet in every room in their house?
Did they use lots and lots of chemicals in their home for cleaning?
If you take a minute and think
through the answers to these questions, you will begin to analyze
and realize what has changed in our society which is affecting the
health and well being of your furry little companion.
Not so very long ago, very few
people fed their rabbits any kind of commercial rabbit food.
Most everyone fed their rabbits from the table scraps of leftover
fresh food that Mom prepared for the family. Most of
us couldn't afford to buy food for the family pet, so Buffy ate
right along with the rest of the family. Many of the
serious champion rabbit breeders had their own special food
formulas made for various ingredients such as corn, alfalfa, oats
and other small grains. These provided lots and lots of
badly needed fiber in their rabbit's diet.
What did they cook? Fresh
grains of all kinds like oatmeal, potatoes, carrots, corn, peas, string beans,
sweet potatoes, squash, rice, egg noodles, etc, etc. These foods were prepared from fresh
ingredients and were prepared daily just like for the human
members of the family. The pet population not only was
healthier, but they also lived longer than rabbits do today.
Think about why that is. Fresh, fresh, fresh wholesome nutritional
food is absolutely essential for health and vitality for any
animal including us humans.
Giving a rabbit dead food from a
bag that may have been sitting in a warehouse for six months or
longer can never replace fresh cooked food that you can provide
your rabbit no matter what anyone tells you. Even if the
food is "fortified" with vitamins and minerals, it can
never approach the same quality of fresh cooked food that comes
from your kitchen. Besides that, fortified food today
is fortified with synthetic vitamins that the body cannot absorb.
Our first recommendation is to
prepare fresh food for your rabbit and don't listen to the soothsayers.
It will take you about a week to get into the routine, but after
that you will develop a routine that both you and your little
friend enjoy together. Now those of you with hundreds or
thousands of rabbits, this is of course out of the question.
What you can do however, is make sure your rabbits are not being
feed toxic genetically modified food. This is a whole other
story, but sufficient it to say that these foods are causing lots
and lots and lots of healthy problems with rabbits today.
What about a raw food diet?
Definitely a raw food diet is excellent for rabbits. We recommend you try both
cooking and raw and see
what your pet prefers, then go with their wishes. They know
what they like.
Being from Iowa and all of us
here being born on a farm, we know what goes on in agriculture.
When an animal dies on the farm today, the farmer calls the
rendering truck to come pick up the dead, diseased animal.
At one time we farmers would drag the dead animal to the edge of a
forest, take a knife and cut a small opening, then leave.
The coyotes and other wild animals would then feast on this dead
creature and feed their young. Now days, the farmers call a
What does the rendering truck do
with the dead animals? You guessed it. These dead
diseased animals go into food for your rabbit, cats, pets of all
kinds as a "protein product" and if you can believe it up until a couple of years ago
back into feed for other alive livestock just like the British
did. This is where the mad cow disease began--cows
eating other cows!!! How utterly disgusting and
Where do the euthanasized rabbits and
dogs and cats go?
You guessed it again. To the rendering truck and back into
other feed for rabbits and dogs and cats. Now, is it any wonder your rabbit
has allergies?? You definitely need to prepare fresh food for your rabbit
if you wish to begin to eliminate allergy conditions.
About those vaccinations.
Most of us are required by law to vaccinate our rabbits for rabies
every three years. Lots of us are told by our vets to
vaccinate every year "to be safe". This is NOT
necessary. The rabies vaccination lasts for three years and
this is what we do. However, the vaccinations STOP
RIGHT HERE. We do not nor do we recommend that you
vaccinate your beloved little companions for anything else
period. We do not believe that putting a foreign substance
into our rabbit's body is "good" for its body. We
believe a very wholesome diet and a very strong immune system will
take care of our and your rabbits' health.
In fact, we have case after case
of customer's rabbits who have had horrible reactions to a
vaccination and several rabbits have even died. For
what? What law is requiring this vaccination?
Why do people get terrorized into vaccinating their rabbits?
It all revolves around money as we all know. If you provide
your rabbit with a good fresh diet and good clean filtered water
daily, then you will have a rabbit that can withstand 99% of any
health threats. Don't put toxins into your rabbit just
because of peer pressure. It is harmful to your rabbit.
What about tape worms and other worm drugs?
How do these
cause allergies? The toxic build up within the rabbit's body
as a result thereof is the root cause of allergies. There definitely is a better, nontoxic and
safer way to make sure your rabbit does not get worms.
We never use nor recommend anyone use that extremely toxic and
extremely dangerous method of preventing worms. These
chemicals have been known to cause all kinds of allergic reactions
to this poison. Click Here
to learn a much safer way to prevent or remove tape worms and
other parasites and prevent allergic reactions if, in fact, your rabbit
When a person sprays their lawn
with toxic chemicals and/or synthetic fertilizers, then allows
their rabbit to roam and play on this same now beautiful but
dangerous lawn, many many times a rabbit will have an allergy
problem as a result. The toxins get into your little pet's
body through its paws and skin. The liver and kidneys cannot
clean its overloaded system. Thus, your rabbit now appears
to have symptoms of allergies. For a detailed
discussion on skin problems, Click Here.
What about all those chemicals in
the house. Can this really affect my rabbit? Most
definitely and you too for that matter. High concentrations
of pesticides and all kinds of toxic materials are tracked
into our homes by our pets and ourselves. Airborne
contaminants, cleaning chemicals and even cooking contaminants
from teflon pans settle on the floors and especially the carpets.
Unlike the same compounds that will eventually breakdown
from exposure to sunlight and rain, these indoor pollutants can
remain intact for years. This is why it is so dangerous for
small children and rabbits to be continually exposed to these
toxic substances. This is also why a person who has a rabbit
who died of cancer, then gets another rabbit and that rabbit will
often die of the same type of cancer. These indoor toxins
are extremely dangerous to man and animals. First they
appear as allergic symptoms, then tumors may develop, then cancer
may be detected, then it is only a matter of time before other
serious and often fatal health problems exist.
Allergies are a symptom or signal
if you will. Really, allergies can be a blessing.
These so called "allergies" are really a signal that
there is something really wrong with your rabbit's environment and
its internal body. You can now take steps to clean your rabbit's
body, its living quarters while at the same time cleaning your own
home and making it as free as possible of toxic contaminants.
Your rabbit may be saving your life too in many ways--your
emotional life, your physical life, and your health. Click

these from your rabbit's body.
But, you say, "I don't have
chemicals in my home and I feed my rabbit an all natural food and
I give it good clean water and it still appears to have an allergy
problem. What would you recommend now?"
A true allergy situation can
exist particularly if your rabbit's immune system is weak.
The first thing we would recommend is to build your rabbit's
immune system. Building the immune system is relatively easy
by giving your rabbit the best nutrition you possibly can; by
adding the proper herbs to its diet and by adding the essential
digestive enzymes that are so essential for the over all well
being of your little companion.
TYPES OF ALLERGIES
There are food borne allergies
and air borne allergies. It is relatively easy to check for
food borne allergies. What one can do is to cook different
grains, different vegetables and fruits. Test the starches
one by one to see how your rabbit reacts. Most of today's
commercial rabbit food contains corn, soy, wheat and other grains.
These same grains cause allergies in people and just may be
causing an allergy with your rabbit.
Our rabbit's ancestors ate
grasses, grains, nuts all kinds of weeds and whatever else they
could find to nourish them all year round. You might even
try and provide sprouts for your rabbit. They love all kinds
of sprouts and they are wonderful for your rabbit's health.
To sum this up, it is easy for
you to test your own rabbits response to food borne allergies by
cooking different ingredients as though your rabbit is a very
special member of your family. A different menu each week
followed by your finely tuned powers of observation will help
determine if your rabbit has a food allergy. No expensive
stressful tests are necessary. Just a little more effort on
your part can and will do the trick.
For airborne allergies, testing
for these is much more difficult. Again our first
recommendation is to build your pet's immune system and clean its
body, then go from
there. Our second recommendation is to do your own testing
of food allergies first, then observe how your rabbit's health is
from this point.
Third, check your house for toxic
chemicals. What toxic cleaning supplies are you using on a
regular basis? Could you use chemical free cleaning products
instead? Do you have carpeting which collects airborne
contaminants? How long has it been there? Could
it be removed without costing a fortune? Could you
eliminate these chemicals from your house? Did you recently
paint or bring in new furniture or flooring? Many of these
are toxic to animals, so you need to be aware of how your rabbit
is feeling and responding to your new additions. Could you
get an ozone air cleaner for your house? This will help
clear the air?
Once a person is aware that there
is something that can be done besides paying out lots and lots of
money for testing, then you can actually do something about these
airborne allergens yourself. You just need to start thinking
about your lifestyle, the products you use in your home and around
your pet. Then eliminate as much of the toxicities that are
lurking in your home causing damage to both you and your pet.
Keep building your rabbit's immune system on a regular basis.
You have done
